Parties and Saying “Yes” to the Dress…

For my first blog post I wanted to write about two big events that happened last weekend, picking out my wedding dress and our engagement party.  My best friends decided to throw Brody and I a party in honor of our engagement.  We had such an amazing time and we were overwhelmed by how many people showed up to celebrate our excitement.  There was a lot of love in the room that night.  My friends went above and beyond to make the night perfect.  I can’t say thank you enough to everyone who came and to my girlfriends for making it such a special night.

That same day I also said “Yes” to the dress.  I went to the Bridal Boutique in the East Village and found my dream dress.  I wish I could post pictures but of course that is the one thing that will be a surprise for Brody.  My Mom, sister in law and two best friends helped me pick out the dress.  We all agreed it was the one.  The people at Bridal Boutique were so helpful and nice.  They actually picked out the dress I ended up choosing.  I was very impressed!

Brody’s girls Karsyn and Parker are going to be my bridesmaids so the next stop is picking out and trying on dresses for them.  I am leaving it up to them on what they want.  I can’t wait to see what they pick out.

Last weekend was a lot of “firsts” for me and it makes me so excited for the future and what is to come.  I posted some photos from the engagement party and my champagne toast to saying “Yes” to the dress.  So far my journey to forty is looking pretty darn good!
