It feels like it has been forever since my last blog post. I have been busy and finding time to sit down and write has been difficult. Finally, last night I had some free time and I made sure to sit down and write. Many big events have happened since my last blog post. First, I am officially 40! I turned forty on March 31st. Brody made my birthday week very special and even planned a small get together for me the night of my birthday with family and friends. It was so fun so to see everyone and I appreciated all who came to celebrate my new decade with me.
The second big event that happened was I officially moved in with Brody and the girls. We moved the day after my birthday bright and early! It was a LONG day but I can finally say minus a few boxes in the basement I am all settled and moved in. It was not as hard to say good-bye to my old house as I thought it would be, I think the excitement of moving in with Brody and the girls over ruled any sadness I had. The dogs are doing great! They absolutely love the girls and the girls love them. They get so much playtime they don’t know what to do with themselves. They are certainly being spoiled. Pearl, our female bulldog, is even getting along for the most part with Brody’s dog Otis. This is a big win in our book! So far, we could not be more thankful for our home, the pups and our little family. We have many exciting moments ahead and moving in with each other is just the beginning.
The third major event that happened is I paid off all my debt. With the proceeds from selling my house, I wanted to make sure to pay off any outstanding debt I had so I could start my forties clean. It is such a relief to not have that hanging over my shoulders any longer. I am blessed I was able to pay it all off. Now my focus is on SAVING, not spending. Both Brody and I want to make sure we continue to save money while still living a comfortable life style. We all know I love to shop but I have realized I don’t need every shirt I see. I think a lot of my shopping in the past was to fill a void or sadness I felt. Some people drink or do drugs, I shopped. I never want to be in that situation again and want to make sure I always have a good padded savings account for our future. For me, paying off my debt was a huge accomplishment and a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
The fourth big event is I booked a fun girls getaway with my best friends from high school to Nashville. I am so excited because Nashville has been on my bucket list for a long time. We are just going for a long weekend but I cannot wait! So much, I want to see and do there. If anyone has any fun ideas for us while we are there, please let me know.
Now, I can turn my focus towards our wedding. I am doing pretty well but we still have a laundry list of things we need to get done. I did get our engagement pictures scheduled for next month, so I feel like that is one big event to check off my list. Now to work on getting the Save the Dates out and the invite list finalized. The thought of everything we have left to do can be a bit overwhelming but I am just trying to relax and breathe and not sweat the small stuff. I do not want to stress out about things, the wedding will all come together and be wonderful.
I am hoping now that the move is over I will also have more time to focus on other areas of my life like working out more constantly, blogging more and spending time with Brody, the girlies, the pups, friends and family. All of these things I feel have been over shadowed with all I had going on the last few months. I look forward to getting back on track and spending time with the people I love. Cheers!
