Have you ever received a gift that just tugs at your heartstrings? I sure have! A few weeks before our wedding, you can read all about our wedding in my last blog post, one of my co-workers gave us the most unexpected amazing gift. I wanted to blog about it because I had to let the world know about her talent and of course her amazing generous heart.
My co-worker Jessica surprised me with probably one of the sweetest most thoughtful gifts I have ever received. Jessica works at Spindustry as a Digital Strategist, she is a full time Mom of a darling little girl and in her free time, she makes beautiful quilts. She has a true talent and spends hours pouring her heart and soul into each original quilt. Each one shows her creative side and no two quilts are alike. She has a true talent in making these quilts. I admire that because I have never been very crafty and would love to have a talent like her.
We were lucky enough to receive one of her quilts as a wedding gift. Jessica told me that when she found out we were in engaged; she wanted to make us something special. This quilt is simply incredible. Not only from all the hours of work, but also for all the personalized detail. She incorporated so much of our family into the blanket. She set the blanket up like a crossword puzzle and put each one of our names, our favorite sports team, our favorite saying “Love you mean it”, our dogs, our hashtag, she fit it all in and did it in such a unique creative way. When she gave it to me, I was in shock. I could not believe all the time and effort she put into this quilt and I felt so blessed she did it all for us. It still makes me tear up thinking about it.
We use the blanket all the time; it represents us together as a family. I could not be more thankful for all Jessica’s time, energy and love that went into making it for us. When I was thinking of my next blog post, I wanted to share about this quilt. People always talk about kindness and doing nice things for others, about spreading happiness and joy. This quilt represents all those things. Jessica is a pure example of kindness.
There is no doubt that Jessica has a true talent in making quilts. To read more about her quilts and to see other quilts she has made, you can check out her blog Maeberry Square. She even wrote a blog about the quilt she made us and her inspiration behind the design of it.
As I cuddle up with my family each night with the quilt covering us and keeping us warm, I will forever be grateful for this wonderful gift. Thank you Jessica for this keepsake item, it will be something we will always treasure.
